Day 155: Rose-Petal Bride

source unknown

I broke up with normal sometime back. And today I marry the misfit. I am a misfit. I am a person who is not suited or is unable to adjust to the circumstances of his or her particular situation, that situation being a world in which there is manipulation, intentional harm, lies, judgment, ridicule and actions that cause hurt, rejection, and despair.

I like the misfit I am. I like that I stand for justice. I appreciate that I stand for transformation. I have pain in my interior and exterior, a fragile structure so it seems. But I am strong. I am intense. With an intensity and power to affect the world.

Rose-Petal Bride

Today I am bride to all misfits

I marry them all

I embrace their radiating beauty

I say I do

I vow eternity at their side

I wed those who strive for betterment and love

Who question the existing state of affairs

The bravest souls of all

The ones shaking in their boots with fear

Shaking so hard that they long to retreat and hide

But they don’t

They force themselves to stand upfront, straight and center and show their true colors

Oh, how I admire these misfits

My better half

And my equals

With their humbled hearts and humbled souls, and all the wounds they carry

How I admire their drive, their visions, and their limitless ability to pick themselves back up and carry on

The greatest of men are those that have the hugest of hearts, feel the knife of rejection and judgment, know they are different, but embrace this difference, this grand uniqueness to make a transformation in the world

I hold the misfits in the grandest of light today

Embrace their collective existence

Embrace their endeavors, humanity, and spirit

And offer my hand in comfort

May the misfits rise and know we do not need to adjust to the unjust

Rise now all misfits

I give you my promise of loyalty and admiration

I make you my own

You are the miracle of today

The bride and groom of tomorrow

How I marvel your veil of brilliance, creativity, and ability to continue onward in a place so often filled with trickery

How I love your tuxedo of light and gown of wisdom’s pearls

You are the answer: you and your dreams and desires

Follow them

Walk on the ocean

And I will follow you across our rose-petal path

  1. I love your Misfit personality. making me so happy – jumping around the house and smiling with joy at this πŸ™‚ With you in the misfit life, it is pretty darn awesome!

  2. Love sharing in the matrimony of misfitism with you!

The other day I was smelled roses throughout my house, I was sending an email at the time and felt like it meant something to that person. I never have fresh flowers in my house. Yesterday, the same thing happened for only a few minutes the house was rushed with sweet smelling roses. No one else smelled it but me. I find that very interesting after reading the title of your lovely poem.

“How I marvel your veil of brilliance, creativity, and ability to continue onward in a place so often filled with trickery” LOVE!

I am walking on the ocean smelling the sweet tender beauty of rose petals and embracing the love connection of misfithood. Hee hee

You are an amazing and gallant misfit my friend!

Much love and light to you! πŸ™‚

    1. I love happy coincidences! I sometimes smell roses, too. You are so cool to share that. I am so cool to appreciate it…lol πŸ™‚ giggles
Glad you loved those lines…You usually write such detailed comments. I so appreciate the time and thought you put into your words. Such a joy to have you about. πŸ™‚ I walk on the ocean with you, in our flowing raven gowns and bubbles all about!!! Hugs cutie pie with the heart of gold. light to you and bundles of love πŸ™‚

  3. “I am a person who is not suited or is unable to adjust to the circumstances of his or her particular situation, that situation being a world in which there is manipulation, intentional harm, lies, judgment, ridicule and actions that cause hurt, rejection, and despair.”

I totally relate to these lines and it is why I cling so desperately to Jesus. Not religion, not church, not traditions but the unconditional love and sacrifice of God. I see Jesus as the biggest misfit of us all, and I love Him with all my heart for it. He is the example of how we can all feel we belong.

Those lines you shared my lovely friend are so ingrained in who I am and what I believe. After 4 years in a religious sect and many years of deprogramming I see this now. Your post is wonderful, I love it and I love you for being the amazingly unique and authentic you that you are.

“The greatest of men are those that have the hugest of hearts, feel the knife of rejection and judgment, know they are different, but embrace this difference, this grand uniqueness to make a transformation in the world.”

    Yep…I’m smiling at you. πŸ™‚
I love you so very much, keep being you.
    Me. xxx πŸ™‚ ❀

    1. You picked out the lines that meant a whole lot to me…not surprised there, my friend. I am so glad you have a heart for Jesus, and that he provides you with comfort and safety. You are an angel and deserve peace. Thank you for saying I am amazingly unique….aren’t we all…some of us are just still to fearful to let our true light shine. I am so glad you are shining your bright for the world to see. So pretty you are.
      Smiling and gumdrop kisses

    1. That is a HUGE question for me to answer, and actually still triggers stuff for me…which means I have some growth to do still in that area. I could write a full paper on this question. Suffice to say I don’t really like any labels, but am thankful to have found Aspergers because the word has connected me to beautiful, beautiful souls I might not have found otherwise, and has given me an avenue for self-acceptance and self-growth. This post sums it up for me, fairly well. On a logical level, a mental health professional diagnosed me after I asked her her opinion, as my son has Aspergers. I am much more than that…but thankful that the word is a link to others.
Here is the post that explains. And thank you so much for your visit and question. ~ Sam πŸ™‚

  4. Aww, you are a lovely misfit and I absolutely love this post especially the bit about those shaking in their boots with fear, but not giving up. Excellent post.

    1. Lovely misfit….he he Love that. Reminds me of the misfit toys on Rudolph. I’m so glad you liked it. Do you get the boot shaking bit, then? I certainly do. Thanks for uplifting my day. Hugs, Sam πŸ™‚

      1. Perseverance. That’s how I interpreted that bit and I love how you arranged the thought of it in words. Even the bravest of all are scared, but what sets them apart from the rest is that… perseverance. Really, really liked this piece. πŸ™‚ -Cindy

  5. The words are charming, exhibiting a lovely misfit.
and today you are a bride to all the misfits ? Way to go. haha. This is awesome.

    1. Your aren’t a duck! Wait a minute! Love your gravatar profile picture. So WONDERFUL to see your pretty face. πŸ™‚ Thanks for the fun talks, fellow Quacker. ~ Sam the misfit πŸ™‚

  6. that’s me…you found your misfit “bride” πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ so, what are we waiting for — let’s go get married…LOL…oh wait, let’s decide on our rings first, shall we?

thanks for sharing this soooo timely post, Sam πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ i needed the reassurance…that i am not alone in this world…thanks for being a friend…

What greater reassurance can the weak have than that they are like anyone else?
    ~Eric Hoffer~

i love this part, Sam…(may i quote you? lol) “…The greatest of men are those that have the hugest of hearts, feel the knife of rejection and judgment, know they are different, but embrace this difference, this grand uniqueness to make a transformation in the world

I hold the misfits in the grandest of light today

    Embrace their collective existence

Embrace their endeavors, humanity, and spirit

And offer my hand in comfort…” thanks for these words of comfort, my lovely friend πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

    this is truly a brilliant piece that you wrote at the right time (for me, anyway)… much LOVE and {{{{HUGS}}}}

    1. Elf fairy rings…I’m an elf fairy!!!
You are NOT alone, ever πŸ™‚ Great quote by Hoffer.
You are so cute, when you quote me. he he
I’m so glad it was timely for you. That is my intention entirely. To uplift.
Love to you darling. Stay strong. You will be okay. ~ Sam

  7. Another WOW Sam… I have had these same exact sentiments, since being a very small child actually. Just felt like I looked and seemed to be human/normal — but was really of another species. Highly sensitive and could only see good ~ no understanding of some of the darker aspects of human nature as you say, ” being a world in which there is manipulation, intentional harm, lies, judgment, ridicule and actions that cause hurt, rejection, and despair.”

I’m so thrilled (though not entirely surprised) that you have done this post calling for ‘misfits to unite’ and your generous proposal to wed them all as well πŸ˜‰ Ok – I accept ~~
    Honeymoon at the Sea ??

Your poetry is just awe inspiring Sam… this stuff that flows from you just has to be Divinely inspired…

Thank you for showering me in Rose petals today — I feel blessed ~truly!!
Your Sea-Sister and Rose Petal Bride ~ and Raven Bride etc. etc. etc. I’m so many things thanks to you my friend ~ Robyn Lee

    1. I know. I know that about you. Can tell by your energy. I referred a dear friend to your blog, only because I knew she would feel safe there in your energy. So glad you shared that aspect of you. Nice to hear the details.
Honeymoon at the sea it is! he he πŸ™‚
Thank you for your kind words. I try to come from a place of pure intention. I am human and have my faults (for sure!) but I try very hard to give from the heart with no other reason than to give. So I hope and pray that energy is felt in the words.
You are very welcome for the rose petal shower!!! I was thinking it would be fun for me to return the favor and have one of your photos on my blog sometime. Let me know what you think. It’s not really “returning” the favor, more so that I would be honored and delighted to share your art and healing journey!
Sea-Sister Sam……an ocean for fairy elves…I am a fairy elf most definitely.
      Glad you are many things!
      Friends across the miles,
      Sam πŸ™‚

      1. Yes ~ did hear from Lisa today! Thank you so much Sam…hope she enjoys my humble home over there;) Do hope she feels safe also! πŸ™‚ Yes – your energy is very much felt in your words…. It’s so refreshing, and welcoming … rings as genuine with intention that is clearly pure and unfettered. Love that about you (and your blog).

Absolutely on the photo… if any inspire you and you want to do a poem of your own, or any other type of narrative ~ and publish as a new post (similar to what I did today ) you are completely welcome to any and all of my photos. I’m always excited about collaboration…something special about combining energies in an artistic way, and enriching for everyone I think! Would also be most honored to be featured on your site as I love what you are about and like it here in the “ocean for fairy elves” ~~ Keep me posted dear friend!! ~ Sea Sis RL

    1. Then I shall sleep well, my friend, in knowing your words. Having lifted a knight of fishland, and earned a samtastic…….that’s just perfect in my elf fairy book. I hope you can hold onto the feeling. I so wish you to be happy and to stand tall. You deserve it, kind soul. Hugs and light, Sam of the green fruit fairies πŸ˜‰

    1. Thank you. I really love it when the music is listened to. I try very hard to match the music to the post. Oftentimes the music inspires a post. So it means a lot that you listened to it. πŸ™‚ You’re such a great trooper through this journey of mine. I so appreciate your visits. Hugs, Sam πŸ™‚

  8. Sam, i love your poetry about misfits, and the song called “Your Guardian Angel” by Jumpsuit Apparatus. You are such a deeply insightful person, which is why i love reading your posts. You have a grand imagination and like many have told me, i wish there were more people like you in the world, because then so much love would be spread around. Thank you for your inspiration. Love you soul sister.
    ~Maya
