Day 143: The Raven Bride in White

Take me to the green in you

The secret valley beneath the sun

Hidden behind the whispering ghosts

Of whom you pretend to be

Open up your mossy arms

So I may open mine

And wrap all limbs round your spirit wide

To exist as half no more

Bring me to your mossy floor

Beyond the shadows of your fear

A raven bride in white

A ladder to your soul

Fold down your branches

Peel open your chocolate bark

So I may pour

As liquid amber

Through your very veins

  2. Sam your writing.. it’s phenomenal and am loving reading your poetry. This just instantly called out LOUDLY to me in so many ways today. In particular….

    “Hidden behind the whispering ghosts
Of whom you pretend to be
    Open up your mossy arms
    So I may open mine
And wrap all limbs round your spirit wide
To exist as half no more
Bring me to your mossy floor
Beneath the shadows of your fear”

Actually have an image that would be a stunning match (shadows) . If i fail to generate writing worthy of the shot – maybe i can use it with proper credit to you you ~a collaboration post with your poem… Loved this inside and out!! ~ Oh – and Canon in C Pachelbel piece – magnificent — i walked down the aisle to this piece 25 years ago June 7th!! xo Thanks for lighting up my day again Sam ~~RL

    1. Oh, your words echoed in me as I took a walk around the lake today. I am so happy you said you love reading my poetry; I can’t help but let the words ooze out of me lately. So much emotion over everything and everyone. I appreciate your opinion much, as I honor the gentle brave spirit in you. I would be delighted if you connected my words with one of your lovely photographs.
I had Canon in C Pachelbel at my wedding, too. Also reminds me of a dear friend I wrote about in “The Bus.”
25 YEARS!!! Wow, that is a testimony to marriage right there. Congratulations! Thank you for LIGHTing up my day in return. Hugs, Sea Sister Sam 🙂

      1. Hi Sam – so thrilled I could lift you up today too 🙂 Really adored this piece. Just resonated and would love to pair it with my very romantic sea shadow photo. Maybe next week? I will work on layout and will be sure to site the author of this spectacular piece and link to your site’s post,The Raven Bride in White! Would you like me to say “by Sam” or a first/last name?? Any other requests from the brilliant author – just let me know. Thanks for being such a warm kind soul!
Much Love…. Sea Sister Robyn 😉

  3. if you dont publish your work soon and gift me a free signed copy i will stalk you and may be kill you( no that wont solve problem) torture you..

this is stunning Sam..what a wonderful poetry specially with the photos the lines make such a beautiful story…oh man i loooved it
you are so good ..i am going to Maui..
I am having that famous “I will have what she is having” moment 🙂

    1. You make my heart so very happy. Like the little cheerleader in my life I always wanted. I can see your spirit standing there cheering on the world!!! What a gift you have to uplift others. I am so greatly appreciative that you can see the light in my work. This is so very important to me. I wish for nothing more than to be a bright light…..and to steal some kisses and chocolate on the sidelines…
The trees truly spoke to me, and brought out this vast longing in my spirit to connect. There is more…secrets, too. But the words speak enough.
I’ll send you some Maui magic right now….little droplets of honey and sunshine coming your way. Hugs, 🙂 Sam

  4. “Peel open your chocolate bark

    So I may pour

    As liquid amber

    Through your very veins”

Aaaaahhh!! I am melting into beautimous wonderment! I adore this post. Lovely images and grand poetry making my day a complete success of jollity. Yay!

You are a rock star Sam the Glam Ra-ven. Hee hee

    1. Yay to jollity! Go angel. I am a rockstar. Yay me. Glam Ra-ven….you are too good to me. Somedays I feel like a deflated serpent girl….pale starving vampire…but today I will gladly be a rockstar and Glam Ra-ven. Thanks for rocking my world with your awesome being-ness…just in being you…no more, no less…the perfect angel.
Bubbles of Rockstar Love, Sam 🙂

  5. This is…DEFINITELY…..MOST DEFINITELY!!! my favorite thing you’ve written…LOVE IT!!!!! yeah…it’s ok lol…ITS AWESOME!!!!!!

      1. Awe….seriously; your comment was super sweet and much appreciated, David. This was one piece close to my heart that meant a lot. So thank you, kindly, sir. ~ Sam

  6. Lol. Laying in bed. Reading on my phone. Hilarious. A collective consciousness or what. I’ve never written a piece on ravens before. Lol. Today. They kept flying through my mind. Obviously yours too. And. I find it funny you wrote about a raven bride. When last night I put out the bridal love letter piece. I am dying laughing at this right now. Ahhhh. Great writing and photos love. Hope you have a fantastic night!!

    1. I was going to mention about your bridal love letter, too, when I read your prose. he he
      Great minds…..what can I say. 🙂
      Love how the universe works.
Big smiles. Thanks for the visit. Have a great day. 🙂 Sam

      1. oh yes…and interestingly enough…amber jewelery graces the necks of most in my home..baltic amber…for it’s true healing ability…the resin heats against your skin and slowly releases into your body the theraputic properties it holds…lol..pouring amber straight into my veins..lol:)

      2. lol..it is not applicable to your poem…but we also wear Quebec hazelwood too…ya…my kids and I…we’re just a little too earthy:) But we are not the only ones who swear by the healing properties that ooze into your flesh from these trees.hugs dear soul:)

    1. I like this one, too. Felt very artsy to me and I was able to relieve a lot of angst. So pleased you liked, as well. Have a wonderful weekend in the heat…high of 63 here yesterday, BUT the sun is out today!!! Hugs, Sam 🙂

  7. Yeah, it’s a bit of a non-physical sexual thing when it comes to trees 🙂

Have you been published? I think if you haven’t been (and if you wanted to) you certainly could be! Beautiful.

    1. Hi Susieq; always nice to see you here. I have not been. That question has been coming up. I decided to let God (source) take control, and am focusing on healing myself and connecting with others. I think if my intention is love and healing that only beneficial results will arise for all. I much appreciate the comment; I take the question as a kind compliment. 🙂 I liked this poem. Thank you for reading. :
      Much light to you. Sam
