Day 174: Best Birthday Surprise Ever

When I came home from my birthday massage, I arrived to find

Please read all signs

…both stairways blocked with signs and tape.

I ducked under and climbed the stairs.

I arrived at the door and read these signs taped to the screen door.

Happy Birthday Mom We Love You

*

Knock. Then wait for one minute.

To the left on the railing were chips and fresh water!

The chips were covered with a paper towel….a surprise for me!

I knocked.

There was a timer, so I would be sure to wait one full minute.

I heard: “You can come in now!”

I opened the door to a neatly wrapped laundry basket.

And out popped…

My youngest boy!!!!

Shouting “Happy Birthday!”

And throwing messages in the air!

  4. I do so miss those small miracles. Having grown children is wonderful as it says I have successfully graduated and am now a proud parent who managed to raise full-grown successful kids (one a computer guru with a strong spiritual interest and the other a PH.D.-as of next Saturday!). However, I still miss some of those things.
